Unusual car import to UK

Do you know what a Zimmer is? Neither did Kelly’s when they were asked to ship a ‘Zimmer Golden Spirit 4 door sedan’ from St Louis, USA to London in a 20ft container. 

However, Kelly's agent in St Louis quickly advised that this unusual car was 21ft long and therefore would not fit in a 20ft container.  Even the client did not know the exact vehicle length so was most impressed when Kelly’s revealed this news to him and issued a quote for shipping in a 40ft container; all competitor quotes assumed the vehicle would fit into a 20ft.  So, on the strength of the fast and professional response, client booked with Kelly's and thanks to great team work by US agents, the car was safely recovered back to their warehouse ready for shipping just 7 days after initial enquiry was made.

The client (a retired businessman) imported the car to help him raise funds for his charity work – he is hoping the unusual vehicle will attract attention during money raising events thus enabling him to speak to the public about the charities he is helping.  Apparently there is only one other Zimmer in the UK so this neo-classical looking car will surely turn a few heads.  Kelly's hope that 'Mr S' enjoys his new aquisition and wishes him good luck with his fund raising activities.  To start him off on a good note, Kelly's were able to make a small contribution to his charitable fund.
